Me!!

I relate well with Becky Bloomwood (In the pic below) from the film 'Confessions of a Shopaholic'. I can see aspects of my own behaviour in her character. When I first watched this film I was in the cinema with my boyfriend and he said 'That's almost like you, but a bit worse!' he then added 'You will catch up one day though!' this was when it really hit home! I am a shopaholic! Becky Bloomwood calls her purchases 'Investments' I agree!!

I admit it!!!!! I am a shopaholic! I get money in my bank and the feelings don't go away until the bank balance is back at them dreaded numbers £0.00. The problem is – if I have money I cannot just keep it or save it, I’m not happy until its gone. I have an addiction to spending money. I can't help it, I get paid, spend it, lend more, spend it, get paid, spend it, lend more, get paid - It goes round and round in a vicious circle. And I always crave more!!

I have a wardrobe full of over 400 items – tops, cardigans, dresses, skirts, jeans, leggings – a lot of them still with the tags on that I have never worn, a lot of them I will never wear, but when I bought them that didn’t bother me, it doesn’t bother me. When I buy things I know I’m not going to wear the majority of the stuff but that’s not why I buy things – because I’m going to wear them. I buy things because I have to, I have to buy things, I have to spend money.

I have at least 10 of every make-up product, 3 of my Chester drawers are full of make-up and I use the same make-up everyday. I have 4 shelves of perfumes and sprays, 2 shelves of hair product, 7 pegs on my bedroom door bursting full of neck scarves, 2 mini mannequins and a shelf full of accessories, 52 different bags, 14 purses and enough shoes to last me the rest of my life.

Some people may say I’m greedy for having all this when people are out there with next to nothing but I’m not. I earn my money and this is the way I wish to spend it.
